Revolut Resumes Crypto Staking in Hungary After Regulatory Pause
Revolut has reactivated cryptocurrency staking services for Hungarian users following a temporary suspension tied to new local regulations. The digital banking platform halted most crypto operations in Hungary on July 7 after legislation criminalizing unlicensed crypto trading took effect.
After legal review, Revolut determined staking falls outside the scope of restricted activities under Hungary's revised laws. Users can now validate blockchain transactions and earn token rewards through the app, with the flexibility to unstake assets at any time. Other crypto services remain paused as the company continues its regulatory evaluation.
The MOVE comes as Revolut works to comply with the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework, which mandates cross-border licensing for crypto service providers. The firm maintains its position as one of Europe's most aggressive adopters of digital asset integration in traditional finance.
